The Caribbean Private Sector Development Donor Harmonization Group

In 2008, the Inter-American Development Bank promoted the establishment of a Private Sector Development Donor Harmonization Group for the Caribbean Region. The objective of the group is to bring together all the donors that are undertaking regional private sector development projects to share information, strengthen collaboration among the project and increase the impact and effectiveness of these projects.

The participating institutions include the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the United Kingdom Departmetn for International Development (DfID), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the European Union (EU), the World Bank, the United Nations Deelopment Program (UNDP), and USAID.

Compete Caribbean leverages this partnership for the development of national and regional donor matrices which are intended to promote donor synergies. The Program also shares its results with the group.

The Donor Group is one way in which the donors in the Caribbean are actively implementing the commitments made in the Rome Declaration on Donor Harmonization   and the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectivenesss.
